Etna 2.000 - Discover the most active volcano in Europe!

Departure from Taormina to the Southern side of Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. By bus, you will across the typical Sicilian villages of Santa Venerina and Zafferana Etnea. During the ascent, different kinds of vegetation can be noted: flowering, fertile citrus groves, vineyards, fruit trees and orchards, chestnut woods, beech woods, and pine woods spread right up to the highest point. Then it is almost desert-like, where the lava is sometimes overgrown by juniper bushes and astragalus.

You will reach 2.000 m by bus and then walk around the extinct craters, called Silvestri Craters. You will have around 2 hours on Mount Etna. During this time you can keep walking around the craters, have a drink enjoy the fresh and healthy air and/or buy some souvenirs or typical products, like honey or similar, in the shops up there.
