After pickup at your hotel in Palinuro, we will travel by bus to Padula, home to the Charterhouse of San Lorenzo, known as the Certosa di Padula. Explore this significant religious complex.

Upon arrival at the monastery, designated a World Heritage Site in 1998, we will first observe its Baroque façade. Our guide will explain the Carthusian rule and its influence on the charterhouse's architecture.

We will visit areas dedicated to contemplation, including chapels and the church, showcasing polychrome altar decorations and 16th-century choirs. Additionally, we will explore workspaces such as the laundries, kitchen, and library of the Reggia del Silenzio (Palace of Silence). The marble spiral staircase leading to this area is noteworthy.

The tour includes the famous cloisters of the Padula Charterhouse, particularly the Great Cloister from the late 18th century. Spanning 15,000 square meters and surrounded by a portico with 84 arches, it ranks among the largest cloisters in the world.

After a four-hour excursion, we will return to the hotels in Palinuro, concluding the experience.
