Uppsala Private Day Trip from Stockholm
- 4 horas
Join us for an exclusive private day trip to Uppsala, Sweden's 4th largest city, rich in Viking heritage and archaeological sites.
Uppsala Private Day Trip from Stockholm
We will pick you up from your hotel in central Stockholm to begin the trip to Uppsala. The city historically served as the site of royal coronations and funerals.
Upon arrival, our first stop will be Uppsala Cathedral, constructed in 1273 and the largest cathedral in Scandinavia. The Swedish archbishop's seat is also located here.
After a 30-minute exploration of the cathedral, we will visit Gamla Uppsala for one hour, where you can explore the Viking-era archaeological site featuring extensive burial mounds and an on-site museum discussing Sweden's Viking past. We will also see Anders Celsius' grave, among other significant historical figures.
Next, we will head to Uppsala Castle, a 16th-century structure where we will spend 1 hour learning about the Sture murders. Free time will be provided for lunch at nearby local restaurants.
Our final stop will be at Uppsala University, where we will have a 20-minute visit to discuss its history, which dates back to 1477.
Following 7 hours immersed in Sweden's history, we will return you to your hotel in Stockholm.
