Gravina in Puglia Private Tour

At a time of your choice, we'll meet in Piazza Benedetto XIII to begin the private tour of Gravina in Puglia, located in a crevasse between gorges. Our first stop will be the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, showcasing a mix of architectural styles like late Romanesque, Renaissance, and Baroque. This cathedral has faced destruction from a massive fire and a strong earthquake.

Next, we'll head to the Church of Purgatorio, also known as the Church of Santa Maria del Suffragio. The façade features two skeletons on the tympanum of the entrance, a point of interest that will be explained during the tour.

We’ll then explore the medieval neighborhoods of Fondovico and Piaggio, the city’s oldest parts. Through their narrow streets, we will reach Gravina's rock church and visit the Church of San Michele, a pre-Christian temple with intriguing Byzantine frescoes.

Lastly, we’ll cross the Viadotto Madonna della Stella, an 18th-century bridge offering panoramic views of the ravine. Remember to bring your camera!

After an engaging two-hour tour, we'll conclude our experience.
