Lodz Private Tour
At the time you choose, we'll meet at the main door of Planetarium EC1. From here, we'll start a private tour of Lodz to discover the commercial past of this Polish city.
We'll go to the industrial area to learn about the origin of the prosperity of this municipality. It was the textile production centre of the Russian Empire, attracting many Jews and Germans to Lodz in the 19th century.
Our first stop will be Ulica Piotrkowska Street, a 4-kilometre boulevard full of museums, bars, theatres, and shops. This street was damaged during World War II but underwent restoration starting in 1990, turning it into the central artery of Lodz.
At the end of the avenue, we'll come across the Izrael Palace Pozna?ski, a neo-Renaissance and neo-Baroque building built due to the cotton industry. Its facilities include the city museum, housing a large numismatic collection, sculptures, manuscripts, and graphics.
Next, we'll arrive at the Manufaktura, a large red brick shopping centre that was the exploitation complex of businessman Izrael Pozna?ski. We'll admire its unique structure, including details like the main door from the old spinning mill, resembling a triumphal arch.
After a four-hour visit, the tour will end.
