Tour Options

At the time of booking, you can select between two options. Both include hotel pickup and drop-off from Kalambaka or Kastraki, an audio guide in multiple languages, and transport to the Meteora monasteries.

Half-Day Trip

You will be picked up from your hotel in Kalambaka or Kastraki at the scheduled time for a tour of Meteora. A local tour assistant will provide insights into the history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site as you travel up the rock formations and learn about the first hermits and monks. The tour includes visits to all 6 monasteries and allows entry into three monasteries, offering a deeper understanding of the community and views of the town below. The trip lasts 4 hours before returning you to your hotel.

Half-Day Trip at Sunset

This tour option provides an enhanced experience, exploring Meteora under the sunset. Alongside a local tour assistant and an audio guide, you will visit either the Agios Stefanos or Saint Nicholas monasteries, and the Byzantine Church of the Virgin Mary in Kalabaka. Explore the Hermetic Caves of Badova to learn about early Christian hermits. The tour concludes with a stop at a cliff’s edge for a stunning sunset over Meteora, lasting 4 hours before returning to your hotel.
