Paestum Tour

After meeting at your selected point, we'll travel by minibus to the archaeological site of Paestum, featuring three Doric temples dedicated to Hera and Athena.

Upon arrival in Paestum, we will walk through the archaeological park to learn about its origins. This city of Magna Graecia was initially named Poseidonia, in honor of Poseidon. We will first visit the Temple of Hera I, a Doric structure from 550 BC dedicated to the goddess of family and fertility.

Next, we will explore the Temple of Neptune, also known as the Temple of Hera II, the largest temple in Paestum. Following that, we will see the Temple of Athena, a smaller construction previously referred to as the Temple of Ceres.

After exploring the archaeological site, we will visit the park's museum to learn about the vast collection of artifacts unearthed during excavations at Paestum, including pottery, weapons, frescoed tombstones, and grave goods from the Greek and Lucanian necropolis.

We will also admire the famous frescoes of the Tomb of the Diver, the only remaining example of Greek painting with figurative scenes.

After four hours of exploration, we will return to Pisciotta and take you back to the starting point.
