Pisciotta Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet on Via Borgo to begin a guided tour of Pisciotta.
From Piazza Pinto, we'll explore the historic center until we reach the Palazzo Marchesale, birthplace of bishop Luigi Pappacoda, known as a promoter of the Leccese Baroque style in the 17th century.
Next, we'll visit two noble chapels and Pisciotta's Chiesa Madre, dating back to the 16th century, preserving important relics and 18th-century Neapolitan frescoes. Our guide will discuss the Cilento uprisings of 1840 involving Pisciotta, exploring how events shaped the town's fate.
In the final part of the tour, we'll visit a local craft workshop for an explanation of the artisan's work, followed by a small tasting of local products.
Finally, we'll have some free time for shopping, concluding this hour-and-a-half walking tour.
