Tour Details
At the appointed time, we'll meet in front of the Electra Palace Thessaloniki hotel to start our guided tour of Thessaloniki.
First, we'll walk to the White Tower, the emblem of Thessaloniki, which served as both a defensive tower and a prison before its destruction in 1866.
Next, we'll view the equestrian statue of Alexander the Great, erected in 1973, which stands 6 meters (19 feet) tall on a 5-meter (15 feet) high pedestal.
Following this, we'll pass by the OTE Tower, a 76-metre (249 feet) high telecommunications building, and explore the historical ruins of the Palace of Galerius, the Arch of Galerius, and the ancient Roman Forum.
Finally, we will visit the Byzantine churches of the Acheiropoietos and San Demetrio, the latter being a World Heritage Site designated in 1988 as part of the Paleochristian and Byzantine Monuments of Thessaloniki.
We'll conclude the tour at the starting point, 2 hours after the start of the activity.
