We will pick you up at your hotel and head to Brujo: pyramids resembling the Mochica view of the cosmos, located 40 miles north in Magdalena de Cao, with a brief stop along the way. The journey continues through sugar cane fields to the site of three famous Mochica huacas: Cao, Partida, and Prieta. Visitors can admire the impressive constructions and polychrome relief paintings depicting customs from that era.

After a short break, we will visit the Cao Museum where the remains of the former Mochica governess of Cao are housed. Learn how she challenged the notion that only men ruled in this ancient culture. The mummy of the lady of Cao showcases preserved tattoos of snakes and spiders on her hands and ankles.

Among the vestiges from excavations are notable pieces of ceramic reflecting the wildlife of that time, hunting activities, textiles, and baskets. A dedicated room displays representations related to rituals of human sacrifice, depicting prisoners and battles.

After exploring the cultural heritage of the Mochicas, we will return you to your hotel in Trujillo.
